What the DL Basic API does
DL Basic returns the essentials of a driving licence: current status, holder name, the vehicle classes covered and the validity of both transport and non-transport entitlements.
Separate transport and non-transport validity matters more than it might appear. A licence valid for private driving can be expired for commercial use, and only the transport validity tells you whether someone may legally drive for hire.
