EPFO Basic Search examines the employer rather than the employee. Given an establishment ID, it returns the organisation's registered details and a monthly summary of its provident fund transactions over a period you choose.
The contribution trend is the useful signal. A steadily filing establishment with a stable headcount looks very different from one whose contributions stopped abruptly, and that difference matters when you are lending to a business or verifying that an employer genuinely operates.
