What the OCR PAN API does
OCR PAN extracts the printed fields from a PAN card photograph: the ten-character PAN, the holder's name, father's name and date of birth.
PAN is the backbone identifier for financial onboarding in India, and it is exactly the field customers mistype. Reading it from the card removes that error class before the number goes on to be verified.
